Abu Garcia Xrossfield

Abu Garcia’s XROSS FIELD is a series of spinning rods designed to handle a wide variety of fishing environments and techniques with a single rod. For shore-based lure fishing, the lineup includes models intended for sea bass, light shore jigging, flatfish, and shore-based cutlassfish fishing.

The blanks feature a tubular construction with a material composition of 98% carbon and 2% glass. The taper/action is set to regular-fast, providing versatile performance from casting and lure control to fighting fish. Abu Garcia’s original X Carbon Tape Wrapping uses carbon tape applied diagonally in an X pattern to improve the rod’s torque and prevent twisting. The top guide uses a Fuji SiC guide, while the guide system features Fuji New Concept guides. The EVA grips are combined with X Rubber for improved slip resistance.

The shore jigging models include the XSFS-932ML, measuring 9 feet 3 inches and rated for lures from 5 to 35 g; the XSFS-962M, measuring 9 feet 6 inches and rated for 10 to 45 g; and the XSFS-1032M, measuring 10 feet 3 inches and rated for 10 to 50 g. All are two-piece spinning rods, with PE line ratings of 0.6–1.5, 0.8–2, and 1–3, respectively. Choose from the 932ML, which is easy to use with lighter metal jigs and plugs, to the 1032M, which places greater emphasis on long-distance casting and handling heavier lures, according to the size of the fishing area and the lures being used.
