Atec SLOW BUMP SSD

ATEC INC.’s SLOW BUMP SSD is a standard rod designed to cover a wide range of the fundamentals of slow-pitch jigging. The tubular models are based on the conventional blanks but have been made lighter. Their blanks bend smoothly in response to angler input without making the jig jump excessively, making it easy to create the basic slow-pitch action that transitions from the lift into the fall. The series also includes full-solid blank models, which deliver soft movements that suppress excessive jig action and support fights in which the rod is progressively loaded to absorb the fish’s runs after hook-up. The full-solid models feature spiral guide settings designed to achieve a smoother bending curve while reducing weight.

The 632 is easy to handle for slow-pitch jigging from relatively shallow areas down to around 200 m, and is designed for jigs up to 180 g. Its soft tip suppresses sudden jig jumps even when the current is weak, creating a natural, drifting action. In addition to targeting bottom fish, small pelagic species, and cutlassfish, it is also suitable for akamutsu jigging at depths of up to 200 m. The 633 is an all-around model covering nearshore depths of 100–250 m as well as a wide range of mid-deep-water applications down to around 300 m, and handles jigs up to 350 g. Tubular and full-solid blanks, along with different power ratings, can be selected according to the target, depth, and jig weight.
