ATEC Inc.’s Tip-bang SSD series combines high-modulus carbon blanks with sensitive solid tips to detect bites that can easily become unclear during tip-run eging due to the boat’s vertical movement, fast currents, strong winds, and other conditions. The slim blanks and extra-fast action prioritize sensitivity and rod balance when manipulating egi lures. The solid-tip sections feature a light pearl gray color for enhanced visibility, while the guide wrappings use neon orange, which is easy to see even through polarized glasses.

In addition to the standard models, the lineup includes DEEP models designed for fast currents and deep water. Models such as the S65M/SL-DEEP and S610M/SL-DEEP feature added strength from the belly through the butt, while their tip-to-belly taper design has been revised to make bites easier to convey even under the water pressure exerted on the line in deep water. The S610M/SL-DEEP is a 6-foot 10-inch long model that makes it easier to detect bites even when the boat is moving up and down. All models are designed primarily for casting, working the egi with sharp lifts, and letting it pause, with both the S65M/SL-DEEP and S610M/SL-DEEP accommodating egi lures up to 60 g. Due to their high-modulus, slim design, avoid sharp, aggressive lifts and begin with a light drag setting, adjusting as needed.
