ECLIPSE’s BALOR is a sinking pencil lure developed primarily for slow retrieves along the surface. Its curved-back body shape and weight balance make it rise easily, with a target running depth of 0–40 cm. By adjusting the retrieve speed or manipulating the rod, it can be used for presentations from just below the surface to the upper part of the water column.
The shallow-runner-style head shape grips the water and transmits a moderate amount of resistance to the angler’s hand, allowing the lure to be worked while sensing changes in current strength. Its basic action is a swinging action with a relaxed-pitch, light tail wag. When the retrieve speed is reduced, the action changes to a rolling action without tail movement. The fixed weight, positioned toward the rear, is designed to promote easy rising and improve casting distance.
The BALOR 65 is one of the smallest models in the series, measuring 65 mm and weighing 7.3 g, making it suitable for targeting small baitfish in harbors, canals, rivers, and other locations. With a standard retrieve, it produces a swinging action accompanied by tail sliding and rolling, while a slow retrieve produces a more subdued rolling action. It is designed for patterns involving sardines, sappa, bat-tentacle worms, ami shrimp, and haku, and is fitted with #8 hooks and #3 split rings.
