Rapala Floater Jointed

Rapala’s Jointed is a floating minnow featuring a “broken-back” design with a segmented body that accentuates the weakened movement of a baitfish, while retaining the action of a traditional minnow. Its swimming action starts even on a slow retrieve, allowing it to be worked from the surface down into deeper ranges according to retrieve speed and the target depth.

It features a wooden body with a classic minnow profile. All models except the J13 are made of balsa, while the J13 is constructed from abachi wood. The joint between the body sections amplifies movement in the tail section, creating Rapala’s distinctive “wounded baitfish” action. As a floating lure, it can be allowed to dive to the desired range before adjusting the retrieve speed, or its buoyancy can be used to change depth by letting it rise. Each model is hand-tuned and tank-tested before shipment. The lures are equipped with VMC black nickel hooks.

The series is available in five sizes: J05, J07, J09, J11, and J13, with body lengths ranging from 5 to 13 cm. The J13 measures 13 cm, weighs 18 g, has a designed running depth of 1.2–4.2 m, and is equipped with two No. 2 hooks. Body length, weight, hook size, and designed running depth vary by model, allowing you to choose the appropriate size for your tackle and target depth.
