YAMARIA’s LEGATO is a floating pencil lure designed for fast retrieves, intended to trigger bites from wary pelagic fish that will not strike slow presentations before they have a chance to identify the lure. In addition to its diving action produced by jerks, accelerating the retrieve after the dive allows it to continue swimming just below the surface with a sharp, fast-paced action and intense flash.

The lure features an internal magnetic weight-transfer system. During the cast, the weight shifts rearward to ensure stable casting distance. After landing, it returns to the center of the body, allowing the lure to handle fast retrieves with a nearly horizontal swimming posture. It is designed for situations in which fish are feeding on fast-moving surface prey such as flying fish and saury, as well as daytime or dead-calm conditions when fish are especially wary. The dimpled sides on the body grip the water during fast retrieves and generate an irregular sliding action. The F165 is the downsized model, measuring 165 mm and weighing 50 g, and is designed for PE #3–4 class tackle. It comes standard with heavy-wire #1/0 treble hooks and Fighters Ring Daen #6. The F190 measures 190 mm and weighs 60 g, and is supplied without hooks or rings. #2/0 treble hooks, single hooks weighing 4–7 g each, and #7–8 rings are recommended.
