Yamaria Rapido

Maria’s Rapido is a highly versatile floating pencil designed to trigger strikes from following bluefish and other pelagic fish by changing its action. Its slim body and rear-positioned weight reduce air resistance for greater casting distance. The interior is reinforced with ribs, and it features a through-wire construction made from high-quality Japanese steel. “Design Holo” colors are also available, combining light transmission unique to a plastic body with holographic reflection.

When worked with a long jerk that pulls the rod well toward the angler, it swims just below the surface with an action that creates baitfish-like ripples. It remains stable even with high-tempo retrieves using shorter jerks, while continuous twitches produce a responsive action like that of a small pencil, imitating fleeing baitfish. Its slim silhouette and subtle rolling action make it easy to vary the retrieve according to the conditions. The F130 measures 130 mm and weighs 30 g, making it suitable for light shore plugging. The F160 measures 160 mm and weighs 50 g, while the F190 measures 190 mm and weighs 65 g. As a guideline, the F130 is fitted with #1 hooks, and the F160 with heavy-wire #1/0 hooks; the F190 is supplied without hooks. When using separately sold hooks, check that their strength and weight are suitable for the model before rigging.
