Bridge Chum Twitcher

BRIDGE’s Chum Twitcher is a minnow plug designed for large fish such as blue-backed game fish, with the tuning versatility unique to handmade plugs and ease of use on the water in mind. It reflects the practical design philosophy common to Kobo Aoshima’s lures, based on fishing experience and research. The body is made from urethane resin, while the lure’s posture and action are fine-tuned by adjusting the position of the internal weights.

Its key feature is its resistance to breaking the surface during the retrieve, maintaining a stable swimming action even at high speeds. It can be easily retrieved near the surface with a steady retrieve alone, while twitches and jerks can add variation when the angler imparts additional rod action. During the fall, the body produces a fluttering, wobbling action, making it suitable not only for a straight retrieve but also for presentations that combine pauses and sinking. The basic approach is to let the lure sink to the desired depth after casting, then retrieve it while working the rod; if there is no response, vary the retrieve speed and the length of the fall to search the water column. Since handmade lures may vary slightly from one piece to another, adjusting the combination of hooks and split rings while checking the actual swimming action allows the lure to be tuned to the target depth and desired handling characteristics.
