BREADEN’s UOKOTSU is a sinking plug featuring an extraordinarily unusual small-fish skeleton-shaped body, designed to provide a feel similar to using a jig head and soft plastic. It targets rockfish and other predatory fish with a presence unlike that of conventional small-fish-shaped lures.

The unique body, equipped with a bone-shaped propeller, wriggles and spins during a slow retrieve while the propeller rotates like a screw. Its twisting action creates a subtle floating feel and vibration, and when the retrieve is stopped, it produces a lifeless, wobbling and spinning fall. Slow steady retrieves are the basic presentation, but it can also be used with lift-and-fall and tension-fall techniques. Due to its shape, it is designed with greater emphasis on working the depth where fish are holding and fishing along the shoreline than on long-distance casting.

The 44shallow is a 2.0 g, 44 mm shallow model designed to slowly entice fish with a spinning, floating action near the surface and in shallow water. The 44deep is a 2.5 g, 44 mm deep model featuring tungsten in the skull section, making it easier to target deep water, midwater depths, and areas near the bottom. When replacing the hooks, the short-shank, heavy-wire #12 hooks recommended for use with UOKOTSU can be used.
