DUO Terrif DC-12

DUO International’s TERRIF DC DC-12 TYPE I is a minnow designed for down-current fishing that uses the flow to steadily trace a targeted line and shallow range. It features a unique externally mounted lip and a magnet-held moving weight system with a weight setting close to suspending, making it less likely to break out of its intended course or dive too deeply even when subjected to current resistance. It is a 120 mm, 18 g slow-sinking lure with a range of 0.2–0.5 m, a rolling action, and #6 hooks.

The basic technique is to cast down-current and retrieve the lure just beneath the surface. It accommodates a wide range of retrieve speeds, allowing you to send the lure into targeted areas within the current. Immediately after the turn, it can also be made to shift upward from the swimming depth it had maintained. Adding rod work enables side-to-side slides, helping imitate the movement of baitfish fleeing through the current. Its excellent water contact makes it easy to maintain a shallow range even on somewhat rough seas, making it suitable for targeting the surface to just below the surface in areas such as tidal flats, gently sloping surf zones, and shallow rocky shores.
