KATSUICHI’s Light Assist DJ-90 is a small assist hook for light casting games targeting small pelagic fish such as young yellowtail (tsubasu/wakashi) and mackerel. It combines fine hooks that are easy to handle with light tackle and an outward-facing, staggered assist-hook setup designed to prioritize hook-ups.
A solid oval ring with no welded joint is used at the connection between the split ring and assist line. By reducing slack in the assist line, it stabilizes the hook’s movement and helps achieve smooth hook-ups when fish bite the jig. The hook and assist line are unified in a low-visibility black color, and a split ring is included, allowing the rig to be set at the front of the jig. Available sizes are #3, #2, #1, #1/0, and #2/0, offering options to match the jig and tackle being used, primarily for light shore jigging.
