DAIWA’s BLJ Assist SS (BLADE JIGGING ASSIST SS) is an assist hook designed for blade jigging targeting Spanish mackerel and other pelagic fish, with an emphasis on rotational performance during fast retrieves and strong hook-setting power. It features a thick-gauge hook that combines the power and quick penetration needed to pierce a target’s jaw while keeping the blade spinning at high speed.
The blade uses a Colorado-style design that produces strong vibrations inspired by the swimming action of baitfish such as anchovies. It is a high-appeal blade available in two colors: gold and silver. The SAKUSAS ball-bearing swivel delivers smooth rotation even during fast retrieves and is designed for durability against wear caused by rotation. In addition, the oval-shaped dedicated split ring allows for smooth hook replacement while stabilizing the blade’s rotation.
The hook setup can be selected as either single or double, with the single hook featuring the same specifications as the type included with the TG Bait BLJ. It can be attached to the rear of a jig used for blade jigging and is suitable for presentations with increased retrieve speeds.
