It features a thick, powerful blank with a supple taper and strong recovery, while also taking the physical strain of extended fights into consideration. X45 Full Shield suppresses twisting generated during casting, lure control, hook-setting, and fighting. The butt guide uses an RV guide, which allows thick line to pass smoothly and helps prevent tangles and other problems.

Each model is designed with a specific length and power profile. The 76-10 is the power standard for bluefin tuna fishing, with its 7.6-foot length emphasizing a balance of casting distance and fighting performance. The 72-12 features a short 7.2-foot length and a tenacious blank, making it well suited to high-load fights with the rod held high. It is designed for maneuvering fish closer while avoiding obstacles such as the gunwale, bow, and hull bottom.
