DAIWA’s EMERALDAS BOAT JOINT is an egi designed to produce a distinctive action for boat eging through its vertical joint structure. During rod jerks, the jointed body generates a seductive, smooth “dolphin action,” creating an attraction that differs from conventional one-piece egi.

The body features a vertical joint structure and achieves a fast fall that is easy to handle for tip-run eging while limiting forward movement during descent. When a squid is hooked, the joint follows its movements, helping to reduce flesh tearing and lost catches. The egi is equipped with super-sharp offset squid hooks made from Japanese materials, with careful attention also given to the contact points with squid.

A slit on the underside of the body allows a Mask Sinker Boat II to be secured with a band, accommodating weight increases from 7 to 40 g. This enables the sinking force to be adjusted according to water depth and current conditions. The 3.0-size, 25 g model is available in colors including Red–Striped Purple and Gold–Gold Horse Mackerel, and is designed primarily for boat-based tip-run eging as well as other eging techniques that take advantage of its distinctive jointed action.
