DAIWA’s TEARDRO SPIN is a compact blade jig designed for “middle game” shore fishing, targeting a wide variety of species with tackle slightly heavier than that used for light game fishing. Its teardrop-shaped, rear-weighted design provides stable casting distance and is suited to targeting red sea bream, rockfish, flatfish, and other species.
A small blade is attached to the rear of the body with a swivel-equipped assist wire designed to minimize interference with the treble hook. In addition to the attraction created by the blade’s rotation, a steady retrieve allows you to search a wide area, while the blade’s rotation combined with a fluttering, slow-fall action entices fish during the fall. The assist wire is removable and designed to promote stable blade movement while reducing hook tangles. The body is made of lead and is available in 7 g, 10 g, and 16 g sizes. It comes standard with a tinsel-equipped SAKUSAS assist hook on the front and a treble hook on the rear, offering versatile hook configurations for a variety of target species. The 7 g model uses a SAKUSAS single #5 hook at the front and a treble #16 at the rear; the 10 g model uses a SAKUSAS single #6 and a treble #14; and the 16 g model uses a SAKUSAS single #8 and a treble #10.
