Daiwa Emeraldas X

DAIWA’s EMERALDAS X is an eging rod developed with a focus on the handling needed for the fundamental actions of eging—casting and jerking. Designed to deliver practical fishing performance, its lightweight, slim blank combines a crisp feel with a moderate degree of flexibility, reducing wind resistance and easing the burden during operation. The blank features HVF carbon, while the reel seat is an Air Sensor Seat (Slim). The butt section is reinforced with Braiding X, which tightens carbon tape in an X-shaped pattern. This construction maintains strength in a slim profile while balancing the power and maneuverability needed to move egi lures effectively.

The lineup includes the 79M and 83M, whose short lengths make quick, sharp jerks easy; the 86M, which offers an excellent balance of casting distance and maneuverability and supports long jerks and natural-tension falls using line slack; and the 89M, designed for situations where casting distance is a priority, such as rocky shorelines, high seawalls, and surf. The 83MH is suited to powerful presentations in deep areas from early winter through early spring, primarily with 3.5–4.5-size egi lures. From run-and-gun fishing with small egi lures in autumn, to standard year-round eging and large egi lures for deep water, this series offers models to match the egi size and fishing environment.
