Daiwa Kohga X

DAIWA’s KOHGA X series features baitcasting models designed around a “hook-setting” approach for Tairaba fishing, with models selectable according to the boat’s drift style, Tairaba weight, water depth, current speed, and target fish size. The blanks feature Braiding X, a reinforced construction in which the outermost layer is tightened in an X pattern with carbon tape to help reduce twisting during rod operation. Stainless-steel-frame K guides are installed in a spiral setting, reducing weight and helping minimize line tangles. The large-diameter tip guide also helps prevent guide clogging while retrieving.

The 69MHB-S is a standard model with a supple blank and reduced stiffness, making it easy to use from shallow to deep water. Designed for Tairaba rigs up to approximately 150 g, its action is versatile and easy to use regardless of the area, water depth, or current speed. The 69HB-S combines sensitivity and power, handling everything from shallow-water fishing to vertical presentations in deep water and fast currents, as well as drift fishing with Tairaba rigs up to approximately 200 g. The 69XHB-S offers even greater power and is designed for fighting large sea bream and bluefish, accommodating Tairaba rigs from 60 to 300 g. All models feature a convenient two-piece, center-cut design for easy transport.
