Daiwa Saltiga Assist Hook SS

DAIWA’s SALTIGA ASSIST SS is an assist hook designed for light jigging through SLJ, allowing anglers to select the assist-line length and specifications to match the jig size and presentation during the fall. The standard models are available in twin-hook configurations with 1 cm, 2 cm, and 3 cm assist lines, enabling tuning from short jigs to semi-long jigs. A heavy-duty 2 cm model featuring a thick-wire hook is also available.

The hooks are SALTIGA Light Assist Hooks with long-taper points and forged-flat construction, finished with DAIWA’s Saqsas fluoropolymer special plating. The assist line has a fluorocarbon core that provides moderate stiffness and helps prevent tangling with the jig or leader. On the twin models, the hook bases are secured with binding thread to keep the hooks properly positioned and make double hookups easier to achieve. The setup can be customized according to jig length and hook interference—for example, combining a 2 cm or 3 cm assist hook on the front with a 1 cm model on the rear.

The SLJ Fall SP (SALTIGA ASSIST SS SUPER LIGHT JIGGING FALL SPECIAL) features a longer mackerel-skin dressing and tinsel that create resistance during the fall, producing a nearly horizontal falling action. It is designed for presentations during pauses after a jerk and on slow falls, while the stepped assist-line design helps prevent tangling with the jig. Available in S, M, L, and LL sizes, it can be selected according to the recommended jig size.
