DAIWA’s GEKKABIJIN AJING is a rod series designed with an emphasis on the controllability required for ajing, allowing anglers to work lures with rod action and set the hook on bites during the fall or while the lure is paused. Lightweight HVF carbon blanks deliver a crisp handling feel and enhanced sensitivity. Guides one size larger improve line flow, while also accommodating casts with lightweight lures and easier line threading at night. The compact grip is shaped to allow easy contact with the blank, enhancing responsiveness to rod manipulation. The tip guide uses SiC, while the remaining guides use Alconite. Solid-tip models are equipped with Megatop, combining high sensitivity and strength.

The 78ML-S is a long-casting model designed for targeting offshore currents and drop-offs. It combines a supple tip for easy bite detection, a powerful butt suited to long casts, and a responsive midsection designed for controllability, making it easy to fish with Carolina rigs and floats. It handles lure weights from 2 to 15 g and is suited to targeting areas that are difficult to reach with a jig head alone, as well as offshore current seams and flowing water. Within the series, the 55UL-S and 510UL-S are short models for lightweight rigs inside harbors; the 68L-S is a versatile standard model focused on jig-head rigs; and the 80ML-T is designed for long casts with heavier floats, Carolina rigs, and metal jigs using its tubular tip.
