DAIWA’s EMERALDAS LIGHT 2 RV is an egi squid jig designed for light eging from shore, targeting squid species with light tackle. Its size, fall speed, and colors have been carefully optimized for this style of fishing. Intended for night fishing, the lineup focuses on glow-based colors and also includes colors inspired by chika smelt, a common baitfish in northern Japan.
The RV 1.8 features a medium-sized silhouette and a fast fall rate of 3.5 seconds per meter, making it easy to use as a primary bottom-fishing model or as a search bait for covering a wide area. The RV 2.5 is easy to cast long distances by taking advantage of its larger silhouette and heavier weight, allowing anglers to efficiently search broad areas. On windy days or at deeper spots, the 1.5 and 1.8 DEEP models are designed with a fall rate of 2.0 seconds per meter. The crown hooks, which provide the critical connection with the squid, feature Super Sharp stepped hooks made with Japanese materials, while the 1.5 uses a single crown-hook configuration.
