SMITH’s LUNA MEBARU is a minnow for rockfish, designed to entice fish by instantly turning at targeted spots, taking advantage of its highly responsive twitch action. Combined with lightweight hooks, it sharply reverses direction from side to side with a single twitch, producing a varied action through consecutive turns.
The body measures 47 mm. The LUNA MEBARU F is a 1.8 g floating model, while the LUNA MEBARU S is a 2.2 g sinking model. The F is suited to twitching through shallow areas just below the surface, while the S allows you to search different depths by taking advantage of its sinking characteristics. The primary technique is twitching, with pauses added as needed. It also supports the “wall-bang” technique, in which the lure is bounced off a seawall to make it reverse direction. Both models are equipped with Mebaru hooks #12, allowing anglers to add turning action through rod manipulation when fish are difficult to entice with a steady retrieve alone.
