SMITH LTD.’s CB.Masamune is a center-balanced long jig developed for slow jigging in nearshore waters. Featuring a slim, elongated body and an emphasis on a horizontal posture, it is designed for slow jigging techniques that entice fish by showcasing the jig’s action and silhouette. The body uses a Laser Edge Back & Flat design, made as thin as possible with pronounced edges, to achieve smooth water flow and a wide range of movements. Its long, narrow flat surface is designed to catch water pressure, producing a tight action even with slow jerks using short to medium strokes. Thanks to its center balance, the jig sinks slowly in a horizontal position during free fall. Applying slight tension makes it sway, while the lure is designed to flutter readily when allowed to fall freely. During vertical go-stop-fall retrieves, use slightly faster, longer movements on the rise, then, after the stop, control the jig by following its sinking speed with the rod tip. For sliding jerks, vary the pulling stroke and fall time as you work the jig. The lineup includes 95 g, 115 g, 135 g, and 155 g models, all measuring 185 mm in length, with body thickness varying by weight. Supplied without hooks, the jig can be paired with hooks to suit your application.
