SASAME HOOKS, LTD.’s SHOUT! Madai Assist Rear Hook is an assist hook designed to improve hookup rates on targets such as red sea bream, which can be difficult to hook. It is used by attaching it to the rear of a jig, and is designed so that the movable rear hook can catch bites that a fixed hook may have difficulty following.
This model combines a Madai hook with PE line, shrink tubing, and a press ring, and is attached to the jig via a split ring of your preferred size. Model 98-MR contains two sets and is available in S, M, and L sizes. Size S uses a Madai hook size 13, size M uses a Madai hook size 14, and size L uses a Madai hook size 15. The PE line is rated at 50 lb for sizes S and M, and 80 lb for size L. Select the size according to the jig size and hook balance, and set it up as a rear hook.
