Cultiva Big Game Plug Assist

OWNER’s Cultiva Big Game Plug Assist (CA-161 BIG GAME PLUG ASSIST) is a single assist hook for large plugs designed for targeting ultra-large fish. Designed as a high-drag model for yellowtail kingfish in the 30 kg class, tuna up to 200 kg, and GTs in the 50 kg class, it stabilizes lure action through hook weights matched to large plugs, helping to minimize action errors.

The hook uses the S-161M and comes pre-set with a solid ring and Zylon assist cord. The assist cord features an EX-short design that helps reduce tangling with the lure or line, with a length set to help prevent it from wrapping around the plug. It is designed for simple setups, such as attaching it to the rear of a plug, and is available in three sizes: 13/0, 15/0, and 17/0. The weights are approximately 9 g, 12 g, and 16 g, with manufacturer-recommended plug sizes of approximately 220 mm, 240 mm, and 270 mm, respectively. Each size is assigned an appropriate strength rating, allowing anglers to select the model based on the balance between hook weight and assist length when casting large plugs.
