OWNER Cultiva’s Tachi Shiwari (STT-21) is a three-hook rig for cutlassfish, designed with a strong focus on generating bites and bringing out the jig’s full action. It combines the lightest body in the Tachi Hook series with an extremely sharp Shiwari point, creating a lively setup that is less likely to interfere with the jig’s fall or subtle rod inputs.
The slightly curved point is designed to help convert short bites and bites during the fall into solid hookups, while the deep throat promotes deep penetration and helps maintain hook contact when tension is lost, such as during an upward strike. The gap width is also carefully calculated to reduce point slippage, which can occur with curved points.
