OWNER’s Racing Spec Mid-Deep Tune (RS-15) is a delicate jigging hook developed to hook light bites when fish are not actively chasing the jig, such as after a front passes or during periods of low activity. The hook is designed to stay close to the jig even when it is paused or falling, while subtle actions near the bottom are intended to bring out the jig’s natural movement.
The wide-angle straight point is designed to hook fish that only bite shallowly. The two-stage holding feature and micro barb help prevent the hook from pulling free when tension is lost, while the plus edge on the flattened shank is designed to prevent the hook from slipping out. Made from a fully round, high-toughness wire, the hook uses its flex to absorb powerful head shakes and distributes the load across a wider area to help reduce tearing. Its lightweight construction helps it follow the jig during the fall and on subtle retrieves, while also reducing the likelihood of the hook being thrown during a bite.
As an assist hook, a short configuration is recommended, with two hooks on the front and four on the rear. In situations such as two-layer currents or depths beyond 300 m, a two-front and two-rear setup can also be used; however, because of its ultra-fine design, a multi-hook setup is better suited for reducing tearing. Excessive drag settings or unnecessary loads may cause the hook to deform.
