Evergreen Skid Row Imperial

EVERGREEN’s Skid Row Imperial is a series of eging rods developed to make it comfortable to perform the slack jerk technique, considered Norihiro Shigemi’s signature style. The blank design allows the egi to bend deeply and recover quickly. In the NIMS-86L-EX Slack Master 86EX, Torayca® T1100G and Torayca® M40X carbon are used in the blank to pursue the light weight and rebound characteristic of high-modulus carbon, along with exceptional resilience when deeply loaded. A Quattro Woven Cross is incorporated into the butt section to suppress blank twisting and crushing while enhancing strength under heavy loads.

The section from the tip through the midsection features an unpainted, unsanded finish to reduce weight. Titanium K guides with Torzite rings help prevent line tangles, reduce blank vibration, and improve sensitivity. The spigot joint uses a surface-contact structure to transmit information from the tip directly to the angler’s hand. The split grip and Fuji VSS reel seat provide excellent handling during casting and rod jerking. Measuring 8 feet 6 inches, the NIMS-86L-EX is a light-power model designed for 2.5–4-size egi and PE 0.5–1.2 line, and is suited to slack jerking while controlling egi sent into current or deep water.
