ECOGEAR’s SWIMMING TENYA is a jighead-style tenya developed for targeting red sea bream, rockfish, and flatfish feeding on baitfish such as sardines and horse mackerel schooling in the midwater areas of deep water. Its key feature is the ability to entice fish by making a soft lure swim not only on the fall but also during the retrieve, allowing anglers to efficiently search the midwater zone while creating more opportunities for bites.

The basic technique is to rig a soft lure such as the ECOGEAR AQUA SWIM SHRIMP, let it sink to the desired depth, and then work it primarily with a steady retrieve. Combining the fall and swimming actions enables an approach that targets baitfish moving horizontally, rather than simply moving the tenya up and down. Weights are available in 20g, 25g, 30g, 40g, and 50g, with hook sizes matched to each weight. The 30g model is available with #2/0, #3/0, #4/0, and #5/0 hooks, while the 40g and 50g models are available with #3/0, #4/0, and #5/0 hooks.
