PALMS The Smelt is a metal jig developed as a core model for light shore jigging, pursuing a highly responsive feel to rod work and an action that changes according to the input applied. Its sharp, edge-focused body design quickly reflects everything from subtle rod movements to powerful jerks, allowing you to adjust the intensity of the action to suit the conditions.
Its center-balanced design helps maintain a stable flight attitude during casting and makes it easy to produce the intended action when working the lure. The body features UV-reactive UV Appeal Eyes, while the standard-assist hook setup comes equipped with a DECOY hook fitted with a flasher. The basic models are available in 20g/65mm, 30g/75mm, and 40g/82mm, allowing you to select the weight according to the target distance, water depth, and current. In addition to the standard configuration, a West Japan model fitted with a single rear hook is also available. The lure can be used with varying degrees of rod input for techniques such as steady retrieves, lift-and-fall, and jerking.
