Major Craft’s Redback 1G is a Tai Rubber rod designed to prolong bites from red sea bream that play with the Tai Rubber rig, making it easier to achieve natural hook sets simply by continuing to wind. It features a low-response blank built primarily with medium-modulus carbon and a delicate solid tip, creating a flexible blank curve that is less likely to make red sea bream feel unnatural resistance. The rod also features a grip shape designed for a comfortable hold and a balance that makes it easier to detect subtle changes during long fishing sessions.
The baitcasting models are designed with different levels of butt power for each model, while allowing the tip and midsection to absorb bites delicately. The RB1-B692ML/S combines a flexible tip and midsection with a powerful butt, making it suitable for drifting with the wind and current in depths of less than 100 m, as well as fishing with Tai Rubber heads up to 160 g. It also uses larger guides to help reduce the buildup of jellyfish and other debris. The RB1-B692M/S features a powerful, torque-filled blank that bends smoothly through the midsection and a powerful butt, making it suitable for deep Tai Rubber fishing in depths exceeding 100 m and targeting large red sea bream. Both models are 6'9", two-piece, fast-action rods. The maximum Tai Rubber weight is 160 g for the RB1-B692ML/S, or 200 g when drifting with the wind and current, and 200 g for the RB1-B692M/S, or 300 g when drifting with the wind and current. The baitcasting models also feature a spiral guide setting that sheds debris that can become tangled around the line.
