Major Craft’s FLAT-REC is a jig head that allows you to switch between swimming and darting actions by changing the worm and eye combination. The lineup includes the Ultra Head and Ultra Bait Shad. The Ultra Head features two combination eyes, producing different swimming actions depending on the shape of the worm being rigged. It is suited to techniques that take advantage of the worm’s characteristics: fuller-bodied worms are more likely to produce a rolling action, while slimmer worms create an I-shaped, straight action.
The Ultra Bait Shad is a worm designed to produce subtle vibrations with its ultra-small paddle tail. A slit incorporated only into the tail generates a tight, rapid action. Its slim profile reduces air resistance, while the pre-positioned hook hole makes it easy to rig with the jig head. The Ultra Head is available in 7 g, 14 g, 21 g, 28 g, 35 g, and 42 g, with the hook size matched to each weight. This combination makes it easy to select the appropriate setup according to the worm’s shape, target depth, and presentation method, and is designed for use from shore, on the surf, or from a boat.
