SHIMANO’s OCEA JIGGER LJ baitcasting models are designed to pursue the essence of light jigging, allowing anglers to work jigs with minimal effort as the entire blank flexes smoothly. The blanks feature a slimmer diameter and lightweight, high-strength Spiral X Core construction. The baitcasting lineup includes models such as the B61-1/HP, B61-2/HP, B63-1, B63-2, and B63-3, with options matched to different jig weights and power levels. The B61-1/HP is rated for 40–130 g jigs and lines up to PE 1.5, the B61-2/HP for 50–160 g jigs and lines up to PE 2, and the B63-1 for 40–130 g jigs and lines up to PE 1.5. The B63-2 handles 50–160 g jigs and PE 2, while the B63-3 is suited to 60–200 g jigs and PE 2.
The tubular B61/HP and B63 series deliver crisp handling that takes advantage of the rod’s rebound, supporting a wide range of jig actions, including sliding and falling actions with one-pitch jerks and varied retrieves with changes in speed and rhythm. In contrast, the full-solid B62-1/FS, B62-2/FS, and B65-0/FS models combine Hyper Power X Full Solid construction with Taftec∞, allowing the entire blank to load deeply and follow the fish with tenacious flex. The lightweight, hollow Carbon Monocoque Grip enhances responsiveness during jerks and improves vibration transmission, while X Guides promote smooth line release while helping reduce line tangles. The baitcasting models feature a Technical Holding Seat with minimized step transitions and an EVA short grip that makes it easy to support the rod with the base of the palm.
