SHIMANO’s EXSENCE LANZA 120F JET BOOST is a floating pencil designed for the “Bachi-nuke” pattern, producing a natural wake on the surface while addressing the challenge of casting distance. Its lipless body and weight balance help it maintain a horizontal posture, creating a wake that matches worms swimming along the surface. To preserve its slim body profile, it uses a 4 mm-diameter tungsten weight. During the cast, the center of gravity shifts toward the rear to stabilize the flight posture. The JET BOOST system then uses an internal spring to return the weight to its designated position, allowing the lure to transition into its action as soon as retrieval begins after splashdown. Because the lure does not need a lip to restore its posture, it swims in a horizontal position with less tendency to tilt.
The basic retrieve is a steady retrieve focused on the surface, allowing anglers to entice fish while creating a wake. Adding shakes with the rod causes the lure to rock slightly from side to side, varying not only the wake but also the spread of the ripples. With a 120 mm body, a weight of 7.5 g, and a floating configuration, its official listed casting distance is 44 m. It is equipped with three #12 treble hooks. The series also includes the 145F for use according to worm size and conditions, while this model is sized to match standard Bachi patterns.
