SHIMANO’s Exsence Counterwake 120F Flash Boost is a floating minnow designed to target the subsurface zone just below the surface, where sea bass can feed easily, while slowly enticing them with a wake. To address the casting distance challenges often associated with wake-style lures, it is equipped with the Jet Boost weight-transfer system. The slim body shape, along with meticulously tested lip and face designs, delivers stable casting performance without compromising the lure’s action.
The 120 mm, 22 g body is designed to catch water easily just below the surface and convey even subtle changes in current to the angler. By adjusting the retrieve speed, anglers can vary the running depth—from creating a wake on the surface to diving slightly and tracing the subsurface zone. Its action is easy to feel even on a dead-slow retrieve, and it is suitable for drift fishing using river currents as well as techniques that keep the lure in place within foamy, turbulent water. Flash Boost features a reflective plate suspended on a spring inside the body, allowing it to continue flashing when the lure’s movement weakens or during a drift. The lure is fitted with two #3 treble hooks, making it easy to develop a delicate subsurface presentation.
