SHIMANO’s 25 Sephia Limited is a premium model developed to deliver agile handling, excellent sensitivity, and ample power despite its slim profile for eging. The blanks use Spiral X Core and the next-generation carbon material M46X, pursuing both reduced weight and increased strength. The guides feature a full X Guide configuration using 3D Titanium Top, 3D Titanium, and Aero Titanium, supporting smooth line release during casting, easy handling when working the egi, and rapid stabilization of tip vibration.
Around the grip, the rod uses a Carbon Shell Grip with a hollow structure for enhanced vibration transmission, along with a lightweight, highly sensitive Carbon Monocoque Grip. This design makes it easier to detect underwater information through the handle, including changes in bottom composition and current, as well as contact with the egi. Active Ferrules are used at the blank joints to transmit load smoothly from the tip to the butt. The flat-sided reel seat is designed for a comfortable grip and stable handling, and the rod is also equipped with a foldable hook keeper.
The lineup includes the flexible S84L+, which is well suited to egi sizes up to No. 4.0; the S90ML, designed to emphasize casting distance from its length and slack-line egi manipulation; the easy-to-handle short model S76ML+; the power-oriented S85ML+, suited to large squid and fishing in deep water or fast currents; and the S73M, designed for powerful egi manipulation. Each model differs in length and power, allowing anglers to choose according to their fishing style, including shallow-water run-and-gun fishing, autumn eging, searching a wide area, and targeting large squid.
