Maria’s POP QUEEN is a series of saltwater poppers designed with an emphasis on the bubbling sound and varied actions that draw pelagic fish to the surface. The bubbling sound produced by the cup is intended to alert distant fish to the lure’s presence, while the F160 generates bubbling sounds in the 300–1,000 Hz range and offers an average casting distance of 85 m with its bullet-shaped body. It is also designed to be easy to use in rough conditions or from elevated positions, where diving pencils can be difficult to operate.
The basic action is popping with short rod lifts, but the lure also supports dog-walking with precise rod movements, as well as splashing and bubbling when retrieved quickly. The F200 is a heavy-weight model measuring 200 mm and weighing 100 g, designed for easier casting and operation even with heavy tackle using PE 6–8 line. In addition to fine bubbling pops produced by its large cup, it can be used with a bubbling action that coats the lure in bubbles as it dives, or a sliding action that makes it glide like a stickbait. Its vertical floating posture helps reduce unintended actions during operation. The F160 is recommended with thick-wire treble hooks #2/0 and Fighter’s Ring Daen #7, while the F200 is recommended with treble hooks #4/0–#5/0 or single hooks #6/0–8/0, along with Fighter’s Ring Daen #9. The range includes sizes from the F50 and F80 through the F105, F130, F160, and F200, allowing anglers to choose from lighter models to heavy-weight models for big-game fishing according to their tackle and target range.
