YAMASHITA’s EGI-OH SEARCH is a high-appeal squid jig designed to efficiently locate highly active squid in feeding mode by combining the “flash” of its reflective finish with the “sound” of its Search Rattle. The strobe fin on the back creates a strong side-to-side flashing action, while the wide flat sides of the body strongly reflect the light produced by that movement. In addition, it generates a rattle sound centered around 600 Hz, which is considered easy for broad squid to hear, broadcasting its presence over a wide area.
The fall rate is set slightly faster than that of the Basic type, making it suitable for systematically searching for highly active squid at a brisk pace. The 2.5 size weighs 12 g and has a fall rate of approximately 3.6 seconds per meter, while the 3 size weighs 17 g and has a fall rate of approximately 3.2 seconds per meter. The lineup includes models featuring Neon Bright colors that fluoresce under ultraviolet light, as well as 490 Glow colors that glow under 490 nm light. From daytime presentations that take advantage of flashing to the glow and silhouette appeal used during low-light periods and at night, the jigs can be selected according to the available light and visibility.
