YAMASHITA’s EGI-OH K is designed to target low-activity broad squid in conditions easily affected by wind, waves, and fishing pressure, focusing on a stable fall and a darting action that does not move excessively. The transparent Hydrofin positioned toward the rear of the belly works like a boat’s rudder, suppressing instability in all directions during the fall. The Hydro Body, which tapers toward the rear from its flat front section, and the wide Hydro Sinker, shaped to cut through the water, efficiently redirect water flow and maintain a highly straight falling posture even when the line is carried by wind or waves.
The action is set up for a linear movement with limited side-to-side swing, while its vertical motion helps keep the lure in the targeted range and makes it easier to keep it in front of wary squid. The low-resistance Hydro Eye, designed to minimize the step between the eye and body, features a 490 Glow Edge that emits light at a wavelength of 490 nm. The hooks use Combi Fine Hooks, combining stepped hooks with different opening angles to respond to delicate bites. As a basic presentation, attract squid with a stable fall after jerking the lure; the sinking speed can be adjusted according to the response by adding line weight for a deep tune or enlarging the sinker hole for a shallow tune.
