VARIVAS Shock Leader series lines are designed to take advantage of nylon’s moderate stretch to absorb the runs of hard-fighting fish, while emphasizing suppleness that helps preserve the action of lures and jigs. The standard Shock Leader [Nylon] model uses the MA manufacturing process to keep nylon stretch within an appropriate range, maintaining ease of handling while ensuring strength. In addition, SP-T (Super Tough Coating) covers the line surface with a resin film to help prevent deterioration caused by water absorption, while also enhancing abrasion resistance and casting distance.
The VEP Shock Leader [Nylon] model uses the VEP manufacturing process, which enhances abrasion resistance from the manufacturing stage of the nylon raw material, achieving approximately 20 times the abrasion resistance of standard nylon line. In addition to nylon’s characteristic moderate stretch, it offers the abrasion resistance of VEP, making it suitable for casting and jigging where preserving lure action is important, as well as seabass fishing. VEP models also feature a Non-Stress Coating and UV-CUT treatment to help reduce the effects of water absorption, ultraviolet rays, salt, and other factors that place stress on the line. Both models are supplied in a natural color with parallel winding, allowing you to choose according to your application and the level of abrasion resistance required.
