VARIVAS Light Game Shock Leader combines the high sensitivity of fluorocarbon with an over-pound specification to meet the diverse demands of light-game fishing. Designed for use with a wide range of main lines, including PE, fluorocarbon, nylon, and ester, it features a strength design that helps anglers handle rockfish and unexpected big fish. In addition to the hard, abrasion-resistant nature and low initial stretch of fluorocarbon, it incorporates SP-T, a super-tough coating that covers the line surface with a resin film, and NON, a non-stress coating that helps reduce the effects of water absorption, ultraviolet rays, salt, and other stress factors. Attention has also been given to abrasion resistance and strength retention.
Available in sizes 0.8 to 2, with LB OVER ratings from 3 to 8 lb, it comes in a natural color on 30 m spools. The connected-spool design allows different diameters to be carried together, while size-specific spool bands make it easy to identify the line diameter even when the spools are connected. Friction knots such as the FG knot are suitable for connecting to PE line, while the Surgeon’s knot is recommended for connecting to ester line. Adjust the leader length according to the amount of structure, with a length from approximately one arrow pull to one hiro as a guideline.
