DUO’s Egimasa Kai is a squid jig redesigned to bring out the original performance of an egi, building on the proven track record of the previous model. It is available in two versions with different line-eye positions—SHALLOW and NORMAL—allowing anglers to choose according to the target depth and desired fall speed.
The Egimasa Kai features a crossless head design without fabric covering the head, engineered to produce sharp, responsive action with each jerk. Official staff reports highlight the Egimasa’s low underwater resistance and its ability to move naturally with light rod manipulation, reflecting a design philosophy focused on control and feel during continuous eging. During the fall, it can also be used to entice squid with a slow descent, making it suitable for exploring shallow areas or situations where you want to keep the jig in view longer. Available sizes are 2.5, 3.0, and 3.5. The 3.0-size NORMAL weighs 16 g, has a sink rate of 3.5 seconds per meter, and is fitted with BKK Φ0.6 hooks. Taking advantage of the differences created by the line-eye positions, choose SHALLOW for shallow water and NORMAL when a standard sink rate is desired.
