Daiwa’s UVF Saltiga is a PE line designed to deliver the strength and manageability needed to take on unknown trophy fish offshore. It uses the new “TOUGH PE” fiber, which is braided from fibers that are thicker and closer to perfectly round than conventional fibers, improving strength, abrasion resistance, and durability. In addition to its 8-strand construction, it features Daiwa’s proprietary special silicone coating, “Evo Silicone2 (+Si2),” to further enhance abrasion resistance, smoothness, and durability.
The standard UVF Saltiga Dura Sensor 8 +Si2 is available in sizes from No. 0.6 to No. 10, with 200 m, 300 m, and 400 m spools. It features five-color markings that change every 10 m, along with 1 m and 5 m markings, making it easy to track water depth and line position. 300 m spools in No. 0.6 and No. 0.8 have been added for lightweight jigging. The UVF Saltiga SJ Dura Sensor ×8 +Si2 is available in 600 m and 1,200 m spools for slow jigging and features stretch of less than 3%. It also uses 10 m five-color markings, allowing anglers to monitor changes in the line during the jig’s descent, when it reaches the bottom, and while working the jig.
