DAIWA’s SURF SENSOR HYPER TAPER CHIKARA-ITO+Si is a tapered PE shock leader developed in pursuit of limitless strength, with enhanced tensile strength, abrasion resistance, sensitivity, and line smoothness. Based on Hyper PE, it combines DAIWA’s original tapered design with Evo Silicone treatment to reduce friction as the line passes through the guides, achieving smooth line flow. The design features a taper that increases in diameter toward the tip, reducing air resistance and helping to increase casting distance. The tapered end is set at No. 6, with sizes ranging from No. 0.6, 0.8, and 1—designed for use with thinner main lines—up to No. 6. Hyper PE has a specific gravity of 0.98, and when paired especially with UVF SURF SENSOR+Si, it enables anglers to pursue enhanced sensitivity and casting distance. In addition to the yellow type, the lineup also includes a model with the first 5 m finished in yellow and Stealth Gold, making it less conspicuous over sandy bottoms.
