DAIWA’s OVER DRIVE is a heavy sinking pencil designed to achieve outstanding casting distance and perform across a wide range of retrieve speeds. During slow retrieves, it produces a wide tail swing by applying the small head-fin technology developed for the MORETHAN “S-RUSH” and “FASHAD.” As the retrieve speed increases, the action changes to a tight, irregular rolling motion, occasionally interspersed with irregular darts. It falls in a horizontal posture, allowing it to continue attracting fish from splashdown after the cast until it reaches the bottom.
The sides of the body feature a three-segment, high-flashing side design inherited from the SURF BREAKER. The small head fin draws out the action during slow retrieves even with its heavy body, while its easy-to-rise setting allows anglers to search a wide area. The lineup includes sizes such as 80S, 95S, 107S, and 120S. The 95S is the standard size, offering an excellent balance of casting distance, attraction, and controllability. The 120S is a high-appeal model suited to fish targeting large baitfish and situations requiring coverage of a wide area. The 80S matches smaller baitfish, while the 107S fills the gap when the 95S lacks appeal but the 120S is too large. LI models are equipped with Laser Impact. The supplied hooks are selected according to lure size: the 95S, 107S, and 120S feature size #4 hooks, while the 80S features size #6 hooks. Through-wire construction designed for fighting large fish is also employed, with a 1.2 mm wire on the 95S, 107S, and 120S, and a 1.0 mm wire on the 80S.
