The DAIWA Outrage XV SJ is a baitcasting model designed for slow jigging, where a responsive blank makes it easy to impart the intended action to the jig while delivering the characteristic handling of an SJ rod. Incorporating the design philosophy of the global offshore rod series “OUTRAGE XV,” the lineup includes four models suited to a variety of fishing fields.
The blank features BRAIDING X, which tightly reinforces the outermost layer of the butt section with carbon tape in an X pattern. This suppresses twisting, which can cause power loss during rod operation, while maintaining strength with a slim blank and ensuring excellent handling. The taper is designed for easy jigging with reduced angler fatigue, supporting a wide range of techniques, from jig manipulation that takes advantage of the rod’s responsiveness to slow jigging incorporating a fall. The reel seat is a Fuji T-DPS, which pairs well with round reels. The 63B-2 is suited for PE line up to No. 2 and jigs up to approximately 250 g, while the 63B-3 offers a more powerful setting for PE line up to No. 3 and jigs up to approximately 330 g.
