DAIWA’s morethan BRANZINO EX AGS is a sea bass rod designed to provide more direct control from lure casting and presentation to detecting bites, centered on the high sensitivity and maneuverability made possible by its light weight. The 97ML/M combines a supple ML-power tip with a powerful M-power butt section. The tip helps bring out the lure’s action while reducing the tendency for fish to shake the lure free, and the butt section is designed to absorb and control the fish’s movements after the hookset. It handles a wide range of lures, from small to large, and is suited to fishing mainly in rivers and brackish lakes.
The blank is designed with ESS, which quantifies the rod’s restoring force and incorporates characteristics related to the angler’s sensory experience. The carbon-frame AGS guides contribute to reduced weight and enhanced sensitivity, transmitting information received through the line to the blank. The reel seat uses a lightweight, highly sensitive Air Sensor Seat, with the 97ML/M featuring a Slim Fit design that is easy to grip and allows smooth wrist movement. With a total length of 2.92 m, a standard weight of 126 g, a lure rating of 7–40 g, and a compatible PE line rating of 0.6–1.5, this model offers a balanced combination of delicate lure control, long-distance casting, and fish-fighting performance in current.
