DAIWA’s LABRAX AGS is a lure rod designed for sea bass fishing around the concept of “Shin Kankaku” (a heightened sense of feel), pursuing exceptional casting performance and sensitivity along with agile handling and superior information transmission. Its slim, high-modulus blank resists twisting and crushing, minimizing power loss during casting while making it easy to load the rod with everything from lightweight to heavy lures. The AGS (Air Guide System), featuring lightweight carbon frames, increases swing speed and enables the tip to settle quickly after flexing, contributing to greater casting distance and accuracy. It is also equipped with X45 for improved twist resistance, a carbon-fiber Air Sensor Seat, V-JOINT for a smoother bend through the joint sections, and HVF NANOPLUS, which combines high-density HVF carbon with Nanoalloy technology. In addition to detecting bottom contact, depth, current, and lure action, the rod makes it easier to sense subtle water pressure from lures such as sinking pencils, supporting presentations that search for changes in current and areas where sea bass are likely to hold. The 96ML-N is a versatile, all-around model suited to the middle and lower sections of natural rivers through estuary areas. It is ideal for fishing current with long casts of medium- to large-sized minnows and sinking pencils, as well as for daytime fishing with high-density vibration lures and blade-style lures. It measures 2.90 m in length and is rated for lure weights of 7–35 g and PE lines of 0.6–1.5.
