SMITH’s T.G. SLOW is a metal jig designed with an action for slow-pitch presentations while taking advantage of the fast-fall performance of high-density tungsten. Its asymmetric shape is designed to easily create a momentary “pause” in which the jig briefly drifts when incorporating slack or stops between jerks.
In a vertical orientation, its tungsten construction delivers a fast fall, allowing the compact body to reach the desired depth quickly. During a horizontal free fall, it sinks with an attractive fluttering action, providing an enticing fall presentation despite its high-density material. In vertical slow-pitch jigging, it is easy to bring out the horizontal action, while during casting, it is less likely to lose its posture on a horizontal retrieve and can handle moderately fast retrieves. The basic approach is not limited to continuous jerking; it also involves pausing between jerks, introducing slack, and combining falls and stops. The 50g model measures 68mm in length, while the 65g model measures 75mm; both are supplied without hooks. The range makes it easy to select the appropriate weight according to the current, water depth, and presentation tempo.
