Cultiva’s SPLIT RING ULTRA WIRE is a split ring designed with strength as the top priority. Intended for high-load fishing targeting amberjack, greater amberjack, giant trevally (GT), and other powerful fish, it is available in sizes #3 through #11, including sizes suitable for the small plugs commonly used in tuna fishing.
Made from special SUS steel, it uses extra-thick wire to achieve high resistance to deformation. Strength is measured at both the single-wire and double-wire sections, with a specified strength for each size. For example, size #5 is rated at 110 lb at the single-wire section and 185 lb at the double-wire section, while size #8 is rated at 240 lb and 405 lb, respectively. Use it at connection points between lures and hooks, solid rings, and other components. Because of the thick wire, the ring is difficult to open and close; when replacing it, work carefully with a split ring opener or similar tool. This model allows you to select the appropriate size according to the load, from heavy-duty setups for large fish where strength is the priority to connection points for small plugs.
