GAMAKATSU’s JIG29 is a hook for jig-head setups that allows anglers to choose the weight themselves according to the fishing spot—such as around wave-dissipating blocks or rocky areas—as well as the strength of the current. Rather than being a finished product with a fixed-weight head, it is designed to be used by attaching split shot or other weights to the hook with instant adhesive, allowing the setup to be tailored to the target depth and current strength. Because anglers can build the rig with their preferred weight, it is easy to use for light-game fishing where fine adjustments are needed according to conditions, such as around the shoreline or structures.
Hook sizes are available in #6, #4, and #2, with wire diameters of 0.54 mm, 0.68 mm, and 0.76 mm, respectively. Choose the appropriate size according to the worm being used and the target area, from light setups paired with small worms to combinations requiring somewhat greater strength. Available colors are NSB and Red, with Red promoted as a color that stimulates mebaru. By adjusting the position and weight of split shot or other weights, anglers can develop presentations for probing near the bottom or adapting to the current. The product is also officially listed as suitable for bass fishing.
